This 3 day, 2 night desert tour from Marrakesh takes you over the High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert for a sunset camel trek before crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains to end in Fes. We call this tour “Green Valleys, Golden Sands” because you’ll wind through the “Green Valleys” of Dades & Kalaat M’Gouna (Valley of the Roses) before reaching the “Golden Sands” of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara Desert. Your 3 days to Fes Desert Tour also includes visits to 2 of Morocco’s many historic Kasbahs, a detour into the spectacular Dades Gorge, delicious traditional Moroccan meals, & more.
Outline
Your 3 days to Fes Desert Tour, “Green Valleys, Golden Sands” starts from Marrakesh on Day 1. Cross over the High Atlas Mountains to visit the famous 17th century Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, followed by Kasbah Amridil in Skoura. On the second day your 3 day Sahara tour from Marrakesh to Fes, stop in Todra Gorge then visit a local souk (market) in Rissani. Arriving in the Merzouga region of the Sahara Desert in late afternoon, enjoy a sunset camel trek in the golden sands of Erg Chebbi, which has the highest dunes in North Africa.
